I’m trying to decide whether to delete my old blog. I imported most of my old Blogger posts when I switched over to WordPress last year, but I also left them up on the old site. The old site still gets a trickle of traffic from search engines, which is maybe why I still feel attached to it.
And I’ve recently discovered that searching on my full name brings up the old blog, despite never using my real name on that blog. Should I delete the old blog all together, or just leave it up with the one post directing readers to this new blog?
Perhaps the answer is obvious but I need reassurance.

Well, I keep my old blogger site up as a live backup to my hosted site.
Silly, I know but it saved my arse a few weeks ago when my hosting company had a major technological melt-down. I was able to go redirect my www domain to my blogger and except for a different look and few less features, my blog was still visible to my readers. Since it doesn’t cost me anything except a few seconds every time I post to make a duplicate post over there I consider it worth keeping.
Of course, you have a slightly different situation in the blogger page is static. So looking back at this comment, it probably is of no help to you or then again…
Oh never mind, I’m just going to go bake some more bread.

mmm… bread. Well, I just finished deleting all my posts on Blogger, except for the one that leads people here. So I guess it’s a happy medium.
